Victory in Galway sees Dynamos move up table

TRALEE Dynamos are beginning to move up the Newstalk A Championship with a few good wins in recent weeks. On Sunday they made the journey to Galway and came home very contented after a good 2-0 win over Galway United. This was a game that Dynamos were in command for long periods but the home side also had good scoring chances but they could not get past Dynamos keeper Robert Birdsall who made a series of fantastic saves to keep the tribesmen at bay.
After a period of sustained pressure Dynamos got the reward their endeavour merited after seven minutes with Aaron Houlihan dispossessing at Galway player at midfield and he headed off on his trademark run down the right flank.
He then linked up with Paudie Quinn who breezed past defenders and then set up Uros Ivkovic and he drilled the ball home from 15 yards.
Then in the 23rd minute they doubled their lead with Theo Diggins making a run down the wing and he then whipped a cross to Paudie Quinn who used his skill to see off a defender and when his shot hit the hand of a Galway defender the referee pointed to the penalty. David Conway sent the Galway goalie the wrong way with an expertly taken spot kick.
After this Galway began to put on the pressure and Dynamos keeper Robert Birdsall was called into action on three occasions and made some great saves.
Dynamos played a containment game in the second half and dealt comfortably with everything Galway had to offer.
This win drives Dynamos up to mid table and with games on hand they could put themselves in with a chance of qualifying for the knock out stages of the competition.
