O'Shea shows safe hands as Listowel Celtic U14s stay top
Wednesday February 17 2010
UNDER 14 PREMIER LEAGUE leaders Listowel Celtic made the most of their trip to Killorglin returning with a 3-1 victory (Kevin Bowler, Sean Gilbert and Sean Farrell) but didn't have it all their own way as Celtic were thankful to keeper Darragh O'Shea who had an excellent game. Listowel are now on 16 points.
Third met second in Killarney as Dingle made the long trip to face Celtic and it was the home side who have now leapfrogged the West Kerry boys following a 5-2 win.
Conor Keane scored two with Tom Brosnan, Sean O'Sullivan and Alan Moriarty all scoring one each. Celtic move to within three points of the leaders with Dingle a point behind in third.
UNDER 14 DIVISION 1
There was plenty of action in Division 1 with eight teams in action and it was a great day for the underdogs. Somewhat surprisingly Killarney Celtic dropped their first points of the season in a 1-1 home draw with a determined Listowel Celtic B. Matt Keane equalised a Daniel Bardon opener for Listowel.
Second placed at the start of the day, Inter Kenmare also had a bad day going down 3-1 to Clanmaurice with Cillian Spillane getting the Kenmare consolation score.
Kenamre now find themselves relegated to third following Castleislands 4-1 win over Park B. Goals from Conor Cremin (2), Shane O'Connor and Colm Murphy were enough to see Castleisland move to within four points of the top.
Kingdom Boys started the day two points behind Inter and Kingdom Boys and remained their as they went down 3-0 to and improving Killarney Athletic who now join them on the same mark. Dylan Sheehan, Jason Brennan and Denis O'Sullivan were Athletics scorers.
