Midleton prove too strong for unlucky Park Under 11s
CUP ROUND UP
Wednesday February 03 2010
St Brandan's were a little unlucky in this game going down 5-2, but were within a goal when they suffered two injuries. It does seem that the referee only allowed The Park to make three substitutions, instead of the allowed five. Josh Laucher from the penalty spot and Darren Chester were The Park's scorers.
THE highlight of the day was the superb win by Kingdom Boys U-15 over top Dublin side, and last year's National Cup winners, Home Farm in a Round of 36 game.
Indeed this was a little bit of history for Kingdom Boys as this is the first year (and hopefully the last) that there will be a Round of 36 in the National Cup. The only goal of a very fast and furious game came on the 17th minute from Niall Sheehy. Kingdom Boys even had the luxury of missing a penalty! They now face Clontarf away in the Last 32.
Unfortunately our other two sides Killarney Celtic and Athletic both went out. Celtic conceded a first minute goal and despite a valiant effort just could not find an equaliser.
Killarney Athletic travelled to Tipperary but went down 3-1 with Ronan Murphy getting their only goal.
