Athletic U11s miss chance to go top
WITH the top two sides, Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic (both on nine points) not playing the other teams hoped to close the gap. Killarney Athletic missed the chance to go to the top drawing 3-3 with Inter but being 3-1 down with ten minutes to go will be happy to grab that point and move onto 8 points.
Denis Cronin, Chris O'Sullivan Casey and Daniel Taylor were the home side's scorers. Michael Coppinger got the first Athletic goal to equalise and then Daniel O'Brien and Mike Cronin scored late in the game to rescue a point.
The big movers of the day were Kingdom Boys who joined Athletic on eight points following their 2-0 win over neighbours The Park.
Cian Twohig and Fergal Ryan netted the goals either side of half time.
Top side Asdee suffered a loss this week going down 3-6 to a Fenit side who are now only a point behind in second place. Thomas Lenihan hit two with Darragh O'Connor, PJ McCarthy, Bobby Ryan and Oisin O'Brien getting one each for Fenit with Eoin O'Connor, Seamus O'Sullivan and Daniel O'Halloran getting the Asdee scores.
Iveragh United are leading the way here despite only picking up a point in a 1-1 draw against Ballyhar. Donnacha O'Sullivan scored for the home side with Stephen O'Connor hitting the Iveragh equaliser.
Second placed Killorglin failed to take advantage of the Cahirciveen side's dropping points going down 2-0 to Mastergeeha with Kieran O'Connor netting from the penalty spot and Luke Murphy getting the other. They are now two points behind the leaders.
In the other game The Park B had a 3-0 win away in Kenmare against Inter B. Eoin Greaney got two for the Tralee boys with Donnagh O'Brien getting the other one.
