Tralee co-driver Falvey and McHale first off start ramp in National Rally Championship

MAYO Motor Club will host round 2 of the Dunlop National Rally Championship this weekend.
Leading the cars away from the start ramp on Sunday morning will be the Ford Focus WRC of number 1 seed Aaron McHale who will be codriven by Tralee's Diarmuid Falvey. McHale last won the Mayo based event in 2008 and finished third overall on the opening round of this years Irish Tarmac Championship the Galway International Rally.
The crew will face stiff opposition from Welsh crew Melvyn Evans/Patrick Walsh (Subaru S12 WRC) who won the opening round of the championship in Nenagh two weeks ago who are seeded at number 2.
Former three-times national champion Niall Maguire (Subaru S11 WRC) co driven by Enda Sherry is at number 3 followed at number 4 by teammate Kevin Barrett (Subaru S12 WRC) who will be co-driven by West Limericks Sean Mullally.
Former Irish Tarmac Champion and current Northern Ireland champion Derek McGarrity/ James McKee round off the top 5 in a Subaru S12B world rally car. MEANWHILE, Kerry Motor Club are hosting round 12 of the Hewison Auto Test Championship this weekend at Tralee Racecourse.
Some of the entries received to date include the Mini Specials of multiple auto test champions Eddie Peterson, Eamonn Byrne's and Paddy Power.
Some of the local drivers entered include Gerry Lynch, Mike Mulcahy and John King.
Action gets underway on Saturday at 2pm and on Sunday at 12pm.
