Plenty of colour and craft on show in Community Games finals
COMMUNITY GAMES

ALL roads led to Listowel last Saturday for the Art competition. As usual the turnout was very impressive and the standard was high making life difficult for the judges. Unfortunately, the turnout at under 16 was poor though both winners had a very high standard.
We're very thankful to all those who supervised the various rooms as we were short a few of our normal stalwarts.
Thanks also to Martin McCarthy of Listowel who had all in readiness for us on arrival at both schools and, of course, the banners were plain to be seen even if one or two somehow failed to notice them.
On Sunday our destination when the last of the Talent competitions were run off. A very high standard was achieved in the Recitation while the Sketch though down in entries had some great submissions.
The Culture Corner showed again thaat there is no lack of talent in the county though the entries came from a restricted district. Lyre took the bronze with Fossa in fourth place.
Culture Corner saw Listowel retain their title once more just ahead of Moyvane/Knockanure with Lixnaw taking bronze this time.
