TRALEE cyclist Sean Lacey took the overall title in the National Senior Classic League in Donegal last Sunday. Lacey, who rides in the colours of the Cork based outfit The Edge, was third in the final race in the five-race series, which concluded at the Northern venue which was won by Belfast rider Adam Armstrong.

Lacey won the first race in the series last March and has been the dominant rider, wearing the leader's jersey in the four other races. For good measure his brother Brendan was 9th in Donegal in a small field of riders.

Meanwhile, the progressive Currow Cycling Club will promote County Road Race Championships on Saturday September 25 at 4 pm in Cordal. All cyclists who are from the county or are members of Kerry clubs are elegible to race. All categories from under 16 to Veterans are catered for, with medals in all categories, for both men and women. Sign on will be at the Community centre from 3pm.
