SHANAKILL Athletic caused a big surprise when they put Division 1A side Ballyhar Dynamos to their sword in their home patch.
Goals from Brendan Coffey and Stephen O'shea put them on their way and while Ballyhar clawed one back courtesy of Dan O'shea they were unable to bring the game to parity.
Best for Ballyhar who were a bit understrength were Ed Kerrick, Anthony Mckenna, Cathal Daly and Michael O'connor.

KILLARNEY Athletic have been going through a barren spell this season so far but they began the New Year on a very optimistic note with a good win over Division 2 side Tralee Athletic.
Cian Tobin was on the mark twice for the winners while their third goal by Eamon Aherne must be a contender for the goal of the year.
Aherne smashed home a volley from the half way line which went into the net via the right hand post.

THE Premeir side were always in control of this game and ran out comfortable winners with their goals coming from Sean Og O Ciardubhain (penalty), Stan Devane and Aidan O'callaghan.
