Wins for Ballyheigue, Crotta O'Neills and Ballyduff in North Kerry hurling league

ROUND 1 of the 2010 North Kerry Senior League went ahead on Saturday last with three games played and wins for Ballyduff, Crotta and Ballyheigue.
Holders Kilmoyley travelled with a very under strength team to Ballyduff and went down by four points, 1-11 to 0-10, with Bobby O'Sullivan scoring a the decisive goal from a free with 10 minutes remaining.
Lixnaw conceded home venue to Ballyheigue and despite scoring four goals went under by just one point, 2-12 to 4-5.
Crotta also had an away win. Darragh O'Connell scored 11 points for Abbeydorney, yet Crotta edged out winners on a 112 to 0-13 scoreline.
The fourth game, Causeway versus St. Brendan's was deferred to facilitate the Causeway club and must be played before round 2, which takes place on Sunday, 28th March. FIRST round fixtures for the Intermediate Leagues on Wednesday, 31 March are: Group 1-St. Brendan's v Crotta; Kilmoyley v Ballyheigue. Group 2 - Causeway v Abbeydorney; Lady's Walk v Lixnaw. All games at 6.15pm. Austin Stacks have now been granted permission to play in this competition. They will compete in Group 2 and have a bye in round 1. THE North Kerry Scor na bPaistÌ competitions went ahead very successfully under the direction of Oifigeach Culturtha, Billy O'Connor at Abbeydorney on Friday last. THE North Kerry Hurling Board has made the following draw for the 2010 North Kerry Intermediate Hurling Championship. Abbeydorney are at home to Lixnaw; Crotta play St. Brendan's at Dromakee, Ballyheigue entertain Kilmoyley and Causeway are at home to Lady's Walk. All players outside of the first 15 nominated by each club are eligible to play in this competition. These quarter final ties will be played on Thursday, 17th June.
