Underage groupings confirmed by board

THE North Kerry Coiste na nÓg has drawn the following groups for the various 2010 underage Championships: Under 16 Group 1: Causeway, St. Brendan's, Ballyheigue, Ballyduff Group 2: Lixnaw, Kilmoyley, Abbeydorney. Under 15 Group 1: Causeway, St. Brendan's, Abbeydorney Group 2: Lixnaw, Kilmoyley, Ballyheigue Under 14 Group 1: Causeway, Abbeydorney, St. Brendan's, Lixnaw Group 2: Ballyheigue, Ballyduff, Kilmoyley, Crotta.
Under 13 'A': St. Brendan's, Lixnaw, Crotta, Causeway: 'B': Ballyheigue, Kilmoyley, Abbeydorney. The top 2 in each Group go forward to the respective 'A' and 'B' Championship Finals.
Under 12 Blitz competitions on Saturday, 17th July, Group 1 (at Causeway) St. Brendan's, Crotta, Lixnaw, Causeway Under 12 Blitz, Group 2 (at Ballyduff) Abbeydorney, Ballyheigue, Ballyduff, Kilmoyley, Duagh Under 11 Group 1: Causeway, Ballyduff, St. Brendan's, Kilmoyley Group 2: Crotta, Abbeydorney, Lixnaw, Ballyheigue.
In a format change, all age groups except Under 13 will be decided as follows: The top two in each Group go forward to the 'A' Championship semifinals, while the third and fourth in each Group go forward to the 'B' Championship semi-finals. The Under 10 Blitz competitions will be held at Abbeydorney on Saturdays, 26 June and at Ardfert on July 24.
Competitive action gets underway in North Kerry on Saturday, March 6 at 4pm with the Senior League. The teams have been drawn in two groups with the top two in each qualifying for the Senior 'A' Final and the second placed in each group playing in the Senior 'B' Final. Round 1 fixtures are as follows
Group 1: Ballyduff v Kilmoyley; Causeway v St. Brendan's v
Group 2: Lixnaw v Ballyheigue; Abbeydorney v Crotta O'Neills. Further rounds on the weekends of April 3 and 17.

There will be a meeting of the North Kerry Board at the Abbeydorney Sports Complex on Tuesday, February 23 at 8pm. Re-grading issues will be dealt with, together with the draws for the senior and intermediate championships.
The Annual Convention of St. Brendan's Hurling Club will be held on Friday, February 19 at Ardfert Community Centre, commencing at 8pm. On the same evening juvenile registrations for 2010 will be taken from 5.45pm followed by the 2009 medal presentation function at 7pm.
Best of luck to Brian Murphy of Causeway, representing the North Kerry Hurling Board, in the Recitation section of the All-Ireland ScÛr na nÓg finals, which will take place in the John McCormack Hall, at the IT Athlone on this Saturday, February 20. The North Kerry Scor na bPaistÌ competitions will be held in Abbeydorney on Friday, March 5 at 7.30pm.
