St Brendans book place in Michael Reidy decider

MICHAEL REIDY MEMORIAL: U12 C/SHIP ST BRENDANS booked a place in the final overcoming Kenmare Kilgarvan 2-8 to 2-2 on Saturday evening last. The re scheduled quarter-final encounter between Causeway and Lixnaw throws in, in Causeway this coming Thursday evening with a 6.30pm start and the winner will advance to meet Crotta in the semi-final on Tuesday, September 6 and the Michael Reidy Memorial U-12 Championship final will go ahead on Saturday, September 11.

MIXED FORTUNES FOR KERRY U14S & U16S

KERRY'S U-14s defeated Down in the All Ireland Tony Forrestal Shield final in Portlaoise last Saturday and the U-16s lost the semi-final of the All Ireland B Hurling Championship to Westmeath in Mullingar. TONY FORRESTAL

COMPETITION IN the All Ireland U-14 B Competition in Clonad GAA in the group stages Kerry beat Meath 2-6 to 04 and lost to Westmeath 3-6 to 2-6. This meant that Kerry went into the Shield where they faced Armagh in the quarter-final. They beat Armagh well, 6-13 to 1-1. In the semi-final they faced O'Moores of Laois, where they progressed to meet Down in the final. After a tough encounter Kerry came through. Well done to team management of Diarmuid Carroll, Ian Brick, Noel Browne and Enda O'Dowd.

ALL IRELAND U16 IN the group stages Kerry beat Armagh 5-13 to 0-7, next was a win against Roscommon 4-15 to 0-1 and after beating Kildare 2-7 to 2-5, they progressed to Cup semifinal to a big encounter with Westmeath.
