THE North Kerry Under 15 hurling championships will begin on this Saturday with two games down for decision. Causeway are at home to Abbeydorney at the changed time of 4pm, while Kilmoyley entertain Ballyheigue at 6pm. Rounds will also take place on September 11 and 18. The top two in each group will compete for the A Championship [Johnny Hussey Memorial Shield] while the remaining teams will compete for the B Championship (Edmund Flahive Memorial Shield). This is the last of the North Kerry Board competitions for 2010.
The September meeting of the North Kerry Hurling Board will be held next Wednesday at the Sports Complex, Abbeydorney, at 8pm. It will be preceded by an Officers meeting at 7.45pm.
With the All-Ireland Hurling Final taking this Sunday, we have the biggest date on the hurling calendar. Each club is requested to organise one event aimed at enhancing the appeal of hurling in its community. Further details from 087 6230605.
