Causeway seniors face tough test in Munster final

VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS MUNSTER SAHC FINAL

Wednesday March 10 2010

ON the back of their memorable All-Ireland Junior title win last weekend, Causeway Comprehensive School are back on the title trail this weekend when they face Hazelwood College from Dromcollogher in the Munster Vocational Schools Senior 'A' hurling final on Saturday.

Drawing from the West Limerick / North Cork area, with Newtownshandrum a mainstay of the side, Hazelwood are certain to provide a huge test for Causeway.

Jamie Coughlan is a Cork minor of some talent while a couple of their players featured for Newtown against Ballyhale Shamrocks in the All-Ireland club championship.

Causeway will call on up to eight of their Junior team, as well as senior players Tommy Maunsell, Brendan Brosnan, Shane Dunne and county senior deputy goalkeeper Nicky Leen.

Causeway defeated Kinsale in their opening game, which qualified them direct to the final, but they will need to produce a near faultless display of hurling if they are to take a second trophy back to the North Kerry school in a week.
