RORY McIlroy is leading the betting to be crowned Irish Open champion at Killarney this weekend, as well as being a short-priced favourite to be the top Irish golfer at Killeen. McIlroy is quoted with Boylesports as 7/1 to succeed Shane Lowry as Open champions, and the Co Down man is 7/4 to be the top placed Irishman on Sunday. Lowry, meanwhile, will be fighting to defend his title at the Irish Open this week and is 33/1 to have a repeat victory in Killarney according to Boylesports. The Irish firm are also offering 72-hole match bets between the Irish golfers. McIlroy is 4/6 to surpass Padraig Harrington who has been installed at 16/1 to win the Open.
