Tadhg in line to play in North Kerry final

TADHG Kennelly could be in line for a sensational return to Gaelic football as the All-Ireland winner is hoping to play in Sunday’s North Kerry senior championship final with Listowel Emmets.
Kennelly turned his back on a career in Gaelic football last month in favour of a return to his former AFL club Sydney Swans, after winning an All-Ireland medal and an All Star after just one season playing with Kerry.
Now the 29-year old is hoping to make a dramatic one-off appearance for his club at the weekend as Emmets face neighbours Finuge in the North Kerry decider on Sunday.
Kennelly is due back in Kerry this week for his Christmas break from preseason training with the Swans but there remains a question over whether or not the Sydney club will sanction Kennelly to play competitively while he is back in Kerry.
“He’s due to fly back on Sunday morning but we’re still awaiting clearance off Sydney Swans to allow him to take part in the match,” manager Johnny Mulvihill said. “If he is cleared to play he’ll definitely be playing for us.”
