Shaun shows Keane edge in midfield when Sem needed it

Wednesday March 10 2010

ALTHOUGH he was taken a bit of his comfort zone by swapping full-forward for a roaming role around the middle, Shaun Keane took to the challenge with minimum fuss and said he would've just been delighted to have occupied any other position on the pitch.

"I don't mind playing anywhere for the team, it's all about doing the best for the team and that's the way it should be done," the Legion man said.

While he anticipated that the Macroom challenge would be tough, he said their first goal was the 'wake-up call' The Sem needed.

"It definitely woke us up and it's probably what we needed. We hadn't played well in the first half but that got us going alright," he said.

Keane feels the confidence levels should be pretty high after last Sunday heading into the AllIreland semi-final and is delighted to be following in the great tradition that has been set by the school.

"The tradition is there for all to see in the school and we're glad to be a part of that now by bringing another Corn Ui Mhuiri back to The Sem."
