THE AGM of the North Kerry Football Board took place before a huge gathering at the Mermaids Listowel last Monday with all club delegates present. With chairman Liam Dennehy and vice-chairman Jimmy Buckley having to vacate their positions due to the five-year rule there was a contest for the position of Chairman between the other outgoing vicechairman, Tom Dillon of St Senans, and the outgoing PRO Billy Enright, Ballylongford, with Enright elected the new Chairman of the Board. Mike Kennelly of Listowel Emmets was unopposed becomes the new vice-chairman with the positions of both the second vice-chairman and PRO to be finalised.

61 years ago, a youthful Brendan Walsh attended the founding meeting of the Glenflesk club. A quarter of a century later, Brendan lined out as goalkeeper for St Agathas Glenflesk in the 1965 O'donoghue Cup final against Dr Crokes but the chance of an O'donoghue cup medal eluded him as the Crokes took their ninth title.
