DAVID Moran could be in line for a dramatic return to Kerins O'Rahillys just in time for Sunday's Munster Club SFC final.

O'Rahillys face Clare champions KilmurryIbrickane in Limerick on Sunday and it appears that Moran could be on his way home from Australia this week if he fails to secure a contract with AFL side St Kilda.

Moran left Kerry three weeks ago – along with club mate Tommy Walsh – for a two-week trial with St Kilda and some reports coming from Australia on Tuesday suggested the Melbourne club would not be offering Moran a contract.

That would leave Moran free to return home this week and take his place on the O'Rahillys team as they prepare for the club's first ever Munster club final appearance.

O'Rahillys chairman Sean Kissane told The Kerryman on Tuesday that the club expected to get formal confirmation of Moran's status today ( Wednesday) and said if the player was released they would expect him to be home in time for Sunday's final.

Kissane said he was aware of the mixed reports about Moran's progress with St Kilda but said as far as he was concerned it would be Wednesday before St Kilda would make a decision on Moran's future.

Speculation had been mounting over the weekend that Moran and Walsh might be set for a shock return to help out their club, but team trainer Mark Fitzgerald has dismissed out of hand any possibility that Tommy Walsh – who has signed a two-year contract with St Kilda – would be back in Ireland this week.

Meanwhile, Brian Moran (elbow) and Giles O'Grady (groin) are both expected to be declared fit for Sunday's match against the Clare champions.

Also, Micheal Quirke, who was married last weekend, will be available to play on Sunday following a brief honeymoon.
