Mallow to host coaching conference
Wednesday March 10 2010
THE Munster Council Coaching and Games committee is running a Coaching Conference on March 27 at the Mallow GAA Complex from 9.30am to 4.15pm. This is aimed at all club and school coaches and the theme this year is "Best Practice for GAA Coaches".
This Munster Coaching Conference will give coaches, managers, mentors, teachers and volunteers the opportunity to see and hear at first hand "best practice methods" in relation to a host of very relevant and varied topics in the development of Gaelic Games today and in the future.
The conference provides an ideal opportunity for the association to showcase the work that is currently being undertaken in the areas of Coaching and Games Development.
More importantly, it will enable coaches and mentors to network and, at that the same time, meet a number of our outstanding coaches.
Gaelic Games have grown and evolved quite a lot in recent times. Young people today demand coaches to challenge them to reach their full potential. Player development now requires the understanding and recognition of the physical and psychology demands on young people as well as the ability to improve the technical ability and tactical awareness of players. Those attending will be fortunate to have some of the most respected coaches in our games to giving presentations.
Everyone attending is asked to get their application in as soon as possible as spaces are limited. Full details are available on the brochure that can be downloaded on the Kerry gaa website. www.kerrygaa.ie/coaching.
