Dynamos are still working towards League licence
The early announcement came like a bolt out of the blue to Tralee Dynamos who are still fine tuning improvement to the infrastructure of the Cahermoneen grounds to meet what they expected was a February 3 deadline.
Initially four new clubs – Fanad, FC Carlow, Cobh and Dynamos – sought acceptance into the league and when Fanad and FC Carlow withdrew it looked as if Dynamos and Ramblers prospects of acceptance were greatly enhanced. However, with Cobh's willingness to become involved in the new league under question Tralee Dynamos could be set to miss out also.
The manager of the Tralee Dynamos team Noel White said as far as they are concerned they are still making every effort to meet what has been requested of them and they will be reserving comment until after the Licensing Committee make their deliberations.
"We have some fine players coming up through the Emerging Talent Programme and we saw League of Ireland football as an outlet that would suit them and give them a chance to play at the highest level possible.
"That will always be our aim and if we are not accepted we will continue with our work or improving our facilities and will be around again to apply next year. As far as we are concerned the process is not over yet and when it is we will consider what is the best way forward for the club.
"We have a team in Division 1B of the Kerry District League and a lot of the present under-19 team will be going on to play with this team and hopefully get promoted to Premier B," Mr White said.
