Ballyheigue sees vintage ploughing
Local man Joe McCarthy competing in the single furrow vintage class with his US made McCormick Farmall Cub at the annual Ballyheigue Ploughing Match at Ballymacquinn on Sunday afternoon.

A DRY and sunny day on Sunday made for perfect ploughing conditions as Ballyheigue Ploughing Association hosted its annual competitive match on the lands of Michael Halloran in Ballymacquinn. The turnout on the day was outstanding, accordiong to oragnisers, with most of the attention focussing on the fierce competition taking place in the U28 class.
