UP to six new jobs will be created in Killarney with the opening of a new company, which will provide training in food service and food safety management.
Mary Daly and Associates, which is based in Cork, has announced plans to open a new centre in Killarney in the coming weeks. The business which provides a comprehensive range of Food Safety Management Services as well as operating accredited Food Training programmes will initially employ two people in Kerry but plans to expand to eventually employ six people.
The courses offered by the company will include food safety training and HACCP implementation, hygiene auditing and supplier evaluation, complaint handling, allergy awareness training, menu planning, nutrition and food costing and safety and training advice for start-up food businesses.
Company owner, Mary Daly, said she was delighted to be expanding her business into Kerry and hoped the Kerry branch of company would grow quickly.
"We've been in business in Cork for a few years. It's gone very well and we felt the time is right to expand into Kerry," she said.
"We'll be starting out with two employees in Kerry but hopefully we'll be extending that to about six. Every food business has to have training and we hope we'll be able to provide support for many local businesses," she said.
