No disrespect for the law
A WEST Kerry man whose motor insurance policy came into effect just hours after he was stopped by gardaí, while still uninsured, has avoided a conviction at Dingle District Court. Damien Moriarty of Ardmore, Ballydavid, was ordered to pay € 500 to the court poor box after the court was told that his policy came into effect at 3pm on September 16 – three and a half hours after he was detected by gardaí at Ballinlochig. Judge James O'connor said there was no intention on Mr Moriarty's part to disregard the law.
