Man who hurled foul abuse 'needs to clean up his act'
A BALLYDAVID man who hurled foul mouthed abuse at gardaí while they were trying to arrest another youth has avoided a conviction at Dingle District Court.
Sean O'connell of Caherscuillibeen, Ballydavid, pleaded guilty to engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, following the incident on August 5 last.
Friday's court heard that Mr O'connell had an audience of people of his own age when he used abusive and foul language towards gardaí, after he tried to intervene in their arrest of another youth.
Mr O'connell's solicitor said his client had too much to drink on the night and wanted to apologise for the incident, adding that he knows he needs to clean up his act.
He was ordered to pay € 650 to the court poor box to avoid a conviction.
