Good Friday walk to aid hospice

THE annual Good Friday walk of the Listowel branch of the Kerry Hospice takes place from St Patrick's Hall, William Street, at 11am, the local committee announced along with details of the €90,000 they raised last year alone.
€90,000 was collected in Listowel and North Kerry by the Hospice branch over the year, raised through a number of annual events, including the Good Friday Walk, Sunflower Day, coffee mornings, Christmas cards, collection boxes, donations and their golf classic.
"The Committee are very grateful and sincerely thank everyone who gave so generously," PRO Julie Gleeson said.
Meanwhile, their recent agm returned the following officers: Chairperson Mary O'Connor, Secretary, Kay Hanley, Joint Treasurers, Eileen Sheehy and Jenny Tarrant and PRO Julie Gleeson.
Sponsorship cards for the Good Friday walk are available through JK Sports or committee members. "Please come along and show your support as none of us know when we might need this service," Ms Gleeson said.
