Exiles to be honoured by Kerry Association

THREE Kerry exiles who have dedicated many years to the promotion of Irish American relations in New York are to be honoured at the Kerry Association's 'Kerry Ball' which will tale place on Friday, March 19.
To coincide with St Patrick's Day celebrations in the city, the event will be held at Astoria World Manor in Queens, where Timmy O'Shea, of Kenmare; John Daly, of Killarney, and Listowel's Mary Brennan will be honoured.
Kenmare native Timmy O'Shea will receive the Guest of Honour Award at the ceremony. He has been a stalwart of the local building committee and has, along with others, been responsible for the provision of the 'Kerry Building'. Married to Sally (nee Fitzgerald) of Kilmanihan West, Brosna, Timmy is employed in the engineering department of NY Presbyterian Hospital and also directs a successful Real Estate business.
John Daly, of Two Mile School, Killarney, will pick up the Distinguished Service Award at this year's ball in recognition of his year's of service as Warden of the Kerrymen's Association. John, along with his wife Mary (nee Reen of Rathmore), has put in hours of work in the Kerry Building to ensure that its reputation for quality and upkeep is at its best at all times.
The Leadership Award, which will be presented to Mary Brennan, a native of the Ballygologue Park in Listowel. Since emigrating to New York in 1986, she has been actively involved in the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform (ILIR) which has as its goal the legalisation of the undocumented Irish in the United States. As well as being a registered nurse, she also volunteers in the Aisling Irish Centre where those seeking help are cared for. She was recently honoured by the New York GAA.
