Dillon's images from around the globe go on display

STUNNING images from the canyons in the southwestern states of America to French rural landscapes brightened the walls of St John's Arts Centre this weekend for the opening of a new exhibition by Listowel photographer Dillon Boyer.
A native of Kent, now resident in Listowel over 20 years, the images in exhibition 'Travels with a Camera' were taken over the past three years during a number of trips Dillon made around the globe.
"They are just simple images I took in places like Yellowstone National Park, the canyons of the southwestern states, France and so on. I go each year on a tour with a professional photographer who selects a good location and the optimum times of year for visiting in terms of getting interesting images."
The exhibition opened to a great reception on Saturday night and will run until the end of September. The shots reflect Dillon's penchant for the natural and unadorned.
"I don't use filters or anything like that, I'm kind of old-fashioned in that I just like to take simple photographs with no frills. This exhibition is more about people coming to browse and enjoy the scenery as I'm not looking to make a huge amount of money in sales. If I get enough to cover my costs I'll be happy," he said.
