Car crash at Curraheen
MORNING RUSH hour commuters on the main Tralee to Dingle road experienced serious delays on Tuesday following a crash close to Curraheen on the western outskirts of Blennerville.
The accident occurred close to Curraheen shortly after 8.30am when a car, with one occupant, went out of control and hit a ditch.
The accident, which occurred on a thin stretch of road blocked the busy roadway and led to delays of up to an hour for motorists travelling from Dingle to Tralee.
Gardaí and an ambulance attended the scene and one person was removed to the Emergency Unit at Kerry General Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
The road remained closed for over an hour as the injured person was treated and the debris was removed from the scene and the road made safe for traffic.
