DURING the Volvo Ocean Race Galway Stopover earlier this year, Look West.ie and Pix.ie hosted a photo sharing competition which proved to be immensely successful.
Over 17,000 photos of the sailing festival were uploaded, making it Ireland's biggest ever photo sharing project.
An initiative from the Western Development Commission is facilitating a tour of an exhibition of the best 100 photographs nationally in the lead up to Christmas. Cumman Bádóirí Naomh Bhréannain, An Daingean, will host this exhibition this Thursday, December 3, from 7.00pm-9.30pm at the Marina Centre.
A guest speaker will accompany the exhibition to give a short presentation on the experience of hosting a sailing event on the scale of the Volvo Ocean Race. All are welcome and admission is free.
