Workshops whet the appetite for Festival

IT'S almost that time of year again when West Kerry celebrates its annual Dingle Food and Wine Festival.

This year's festival starts on Friday October 1 and continues until Sunday, October 3.

In addition to all the fabulous activities organised over the weekend, the festival committee are delighted to announce that for the first time the festival will present a number of food-related workshops over the weekend.

The workshops are as follows:

- Introduction to Beekeeping by Pat Kavanagh

- Two cheese-making workshops, one conducted by Maja Binder from Dingle Peninsula Cheese and one conducted by Giana Ferguson of Gubbeen Cheese

- Keeping hens for domestic use by Tadgh Leahy

- Coffee — how to brew a perfect coffee

- Introduction to growing vegetables organically and bio-dynamically by Sophie Seal

- Chocolate — How to make delicious chocolates.

All workshops will be run for approximately an hour and a half, on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival. The fee for each workshop will range from €5 to €15. Numbers will be limited so booking is advisable.
