A DINGLE guest house has won an international award for Best Service and is rated as one of the top 10 guest houses in Europe.
The 2010 award was made by the internet traveller's website Tripadvisor to Castlewood House, which is owned and operated by husband and wife team Brian and Helen Heiton.
"These awards are based on independent traveller's reports... Last year we we made the Tripadvisors top 10 list of the best Hidden Gems guest houses in Europe and were voted 42nd on their world list of best bargains," Helen Heiton told The Kerryman.
"This is a major endorsement for us as a small business in this economic climate. We have a lot of competition but we put our heart and soul into the business. This award is the icing on the cake and great for business," she added.
Castlewood House has also won a Bridgestone Guide Best in Ireland award for 2010 and the Lucinda O'Sullivan endorsement as one of the 'Great Places to Stay in Ireland'.
