FANS of contemporary music are advised to mark Friday, November 19, in their diaries as local singer/songwriter Stephen O'Sullivan has confirmed the date in St John's as part of his debut album tour of the country.
Performing under the stage name of Evil Uncle, Stephen — a son of Senator Ned and Madeleine O'Sullivan — is set to take all in town by storm with the concert on the night; showcasing the tunes of his debut album which is now nearing completion.
Something of a renaissance man, Stephen has written, performed and produced the entire thing all on his own and is looking forward to finally sending it into the ether in the coming months.
An eclectic talent by all accounts, he has already been singled out for praise by none other than former BBC presenter Jonathan Ross among others. Based on a perusal of advance notice about the album it would appear to contain many of the traits the nation has come to associate with Listowel art and literature; wit, colour and great characterisation.
