TEN local primary schools are in training this week ahead of the Listowel Credit Union quiz on Friday night, January 29, at the Convent Secondary School Hall at 7.45pm.
The 19th successive year that local teams have contested this quiz, it will see the winning schools going forward to the Credit Union Chapter, or county, finals in Tralee on Sunday, March 7. "Indications to date suggest that participation at the Listowel venue will exceed last year's record of 25 ethusiastic teams. In addition to the trophies, certificates and prizes to the winning team members, the winning school will also recieve a welcome cash prize," Listowel Credit Union quiz co-ordinator, Siobhán Hanlon, said.
