A CRACK team of budding marathon runners were galvanised in style on Friday night at the launch of the Kerry Crusaders charity at a barbecue in John B Keane's Bar Listowel.
Up to 70 people from Listowel and beyond have already signed up to the Kerry Crusader campaign, organised by Ennis native and adopted Listowel man Gordon Flannery in memory of his brother Howard.
In aid of the Nano Nagle centre, the Kerry Crusaders will take on Dublin City marathon in October and to that end are in training around Listowel at least twice a week at present.
"We're delighted with the feedback so far and already nearly 70 have signed up as Kerry Crusaders to take on the challenge that is the Dublin City Marathon," Gordon said.
