SOME of the finest amateur actors in North Kerry and West Limerick are to take part in an 'hilarious' production of John B Keane comedy based on his four 'Letters' series and specially-adapted for stage by Joe Murphy. Audiences will have their socks knocked off by the John B magic on the nights of Tuesday and Wednesday, August 3 and 4 next, when some of the writer's funniest characters take to the stage in a variety of hilarious situations as part of the new Postmen, Priests and Politicians show.
"It's a two-hour show, with an interval, of very light-hearted and humorous comedy I condensed and adapted from the letters series, including Letters of an Irish Parish Priest, Letters of an Irish Country Postman, Letters of a Successful TD and Letters of a Matchmaker," Joe Murphy explained.
"It's ideal summer theatre and I hope to bring it back for local audiences in January when we'll all be in need of a lift," he added.
The cast is drawn from local drama groups and features Batt O'Keeffe, Fiona Keane-Stack, Geraldine Dillon, Margaret Murphy, Conor Foley, Tommy Denihan, Darren Mc Donnell, Jean Fleming, Con Kirby, Jimmy Griffin, Bernie Daly, Sonny Egan, Denis Hobson, Tom Collins, Frances Kennedy, Ann Foley, Sharon Farrelly, Rebecca Stapleton, Katie Stapleton and Dolores Viago.
