A NEW eatery was officially launched in Dingle on Friday night to add to the town's impressive variety of resaturants.
Strictly speaking it's not a new restaurant because the premises formerly operated under the name of Novocento, on John Street. But now it has been taken over by a young Dubliner, Gareth Bradshaw, refurbished and re-named The Old Stone Bar and Grill.
Gareth, describes himself as coming 'from a family of foodies': his mother has operated restaurants in Dublin and his brother, Lee, owns The Station House Bar and Grill in Blennerville.
"We opened here in Dingle during the summer but never had the time for a formal launch," he said. "I hope to establish a winter trade by focusing on local people. Tourists will be a bonus," he said.
When he's not running the restaurant he is an instructor with the Auxillary Fire Service of Kerry Civil Defence and was involved in flood relief work in Tralee last week.
