THE New York Jig and the Salley Gardens catapulted four young Listowel musicians to county success at the Community Games Group Music Finals in Abbeydorney on Saturday.
Under the tutelage of teacher Krystal Stack and Karen Trench, Sarah Moriarty, Robyn Doyle, Fionnuala Trench and Rebecca Garvey performed both pieces stunningly â?” on two fiddles and two concertinas â?” knocking the socks off the judges amid very stiff competition.
12 groups took part in all in the county finals, and the Listowel victors now go forward to the National Finals representing Kerry in Athlone in the last weekend of May. Best of luck to them.
