EMMETS are calling for the support of all in town ahead of Sunday's North Kerry Championship Senior Final against Feale Rangers comrades Finuge.
To be held in Ballybunon at 2.30pm, the title could prove to be the Emmets' second North Kerry final in the same year since winning the 2008 final, which had spilled over into the beginning of this year. Provided they win of course.
However, the Listowel side are down seven key players on last year and say they require all the backing they can get from the sideline this weekend. Punters in North Kerry have deemed no team as favourites in what is expected to be a very close contest as well, according to Browne's Bookmakers in town.
"We're calling on all in town to come to Ballybunion in support of their side on Sunday as we'll need all the support we can get," Emmets Chairman, Mikey Kennelly, said.
"We expect to be without seven key players who were so central to our success in the last North Kerry final, but we've a lot of new talent coming up and we hope all in town will get out behind them."
The team were presented with their new kitbags sponsored by McCarthy Insurance Brokers this week . At the presentation were Captain Shane Quinn, sponsor Con McCarthy, Emmets Chairman Mikey Kennelly, Vice-Chairman Tadhg Moriarty, team mascot Mikey Kennelly Jnr, Emmets PRO Nora Browne and Assistant PRO John Perryman.
Meanwhile, money is on Paul Galvin and Tadhg Kennelly for the Man of the Match accolade at Browne's Bookmakers in Listowel, according to Berkie Browne.
"It's evens on Listowel and Finuge, with odds of 6/1 for a draw. Man of the Match odds for Finuge players are at 7/1 for Paul Galvin, 8/1 for Maurice Corridan, 9/ 1 for Pat Corridan, and 10/ 1 for James Flaherty, Conor Galvin and Eamon Fitzmaurice.
"Man of the Match odds for Listowel have Tadhg Kennelly at 7/1, Noel Kennelly at 8/ 1, Derek Galvin at 8/1 and Kieran O'Connor, Brian Scanlon and Jack Buckley at 12/1."
