A Gold Medal town under the national competition, organisers say it is vital a good response to the local competition is received to ensure Listowel's retention of its prestigious place.
Thankfully, there has been a marked increase this year in the number of volunteers attending meetings of the Tidy Towns Group and helping out with clean-ups around town.
"However, more helpers are needed to ensure Listowel is looking its very best and we hope for a great response to the local competitions once again in 2010," PRO of the group and town councillor, Jackie Barrett, said.
