A PIECE of Brian de Staic jewellery, valued at €4,000, is to be hidden somewhere in Ireland as part of a publicity campaign to promote a new book.
"This all began some time ago when one of the world's leading portrait artists John Blakey, who lives in Ireland, commissioned me to create a piece of jewellery which features in his book The Story of Lundravar the Dragon," Brian told The Kerryman this week.
"He asked me to make this jewel made of gold with diamonds and rubies. It's like a cameo and the plan is to hide the jewel somewhere in the country and to organise a national treasure hunt as part of the publicity for the book," he said. No date has yet been set for the treasure hunt.
