Castlegregory GAA - Annascaul 2 12, Castlegregory 0 14. Castle were defeated by Annascaul in the first round of the West kerry league on Sunday. Castle were the better team in the first half with Alan Fitzerald, Anton Kelliher, Colm O Mahony, Shane Hennessy and Sean O Connor all registering points, the score at half time Castle 0 09 to Annascaul 1 05. Annascaul started to dominate from early on in the second half but some well taken points from Alan Fitzerald and Sean O Connor kept Castle in the game. It was two second half goals from Annascaul that made the difference and the Castle lads could not bridge the gap before the full time whistle.thanks to Paddy O Connor and Pierce Ferriter for taking charge of the team for the game. Fergal O Shea of An Ghaeltacht has been appointed as Senior manager for 2012. Fergal had his first meeting with the senior panel on Friday night and he will commence training shortly. We wish Fergal and the team a successful season. Minors- Castle and na Gael have amalgamated at minor level. Both clubs did not have enough players at this age group to field teams so an agreement was reached to join for the coming season.the Castle selectors will be Tim Dennehy, Joe Kelliher and Seamus Rafter. This will give the lads a chance to compete at a higher level, and we wish them and their management team the best for the new season. Their first game will be against Austin Stacks in the Tralee Town League. Time and venue to be confirmed. Coiste Na nóg - The annual 31 card drive was held in the clubrooms on sunday last.
