OBITUARY: The death of Garda Sergeant Brendan Sheehan, Kilcummin, Castlegregory was a severe blow to the entire peninsula. In media tributes to Brendan, colleagues and friends talked of a man who had a great way with people and a wonderful common sense approach. Brendans death at only 58 year of age is a great loss to his family and to the community of West Kerry which he served so well over the past 4 years. Rest in Peace. Kevin Daniels, death in the past few weeks was also received with shock and sadness. A gifted musician, Kevin, a native of Aughascla performed regularly at local fundraising events, attended the Annual St. Patricks Day Parade and never missed the local Wren. A great character in every sense of the word, he will be sadly missed by everybody. Rest in Peace. John Joe Hilliard, New Line, Castlegregory too passed to his eternal reward last week. John Joe was a great tradesman who could turn his hand to anything. Coming from a long family tradition he continued to use the skills handed down to him, for John Joe, no job was too big or too small, he was obliging and popular with everybody in the community.
