SUCCESS: Congratulations to Fiona Herlihy, Kilteenbane, Camp on being conferred with a Bachelor in Education in Primary Teaching at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick recently. AWARD: Olivia Martin, Foill, Camp achieved a Black Belt and 4th in the World Martial Arts Championship held in Soeul in the past few weeks. Olivia has spent the past 6 months teaching in 2 secondary schools in Korea. Congratulations and well done, Olivia !! Good luck with your travels. CAMP COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND: Camp children choose a novel event to open their new playground in Camp Community Field, on Friday last !! They held a tug-o-war, the boys pulling the girls, It was all great fun and then they were in straight away to try out the swings and the slides ! Rev. Mairt Hanley, Chairman, Camp Community Playground Committee delivered a blessing and Antoin O Shea, Priomh Fheimmeanach, Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta, Leader Company who funded the project also attended and was very encouraging wishing Camp Community every success in any future Community Development. Teas, coffees were served afterwards. And the day wasn't over for the hard working Committee whose Halloween party at Ashes was a great finish to the day, with Ann Connell and Tara Chambers mixing the cocktails and dishing out the food to raise some additional funds towards Playground maintenance. Many people attended in fancy dress. DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING: Adult CPR Lifesaving training was attended by 24 students on Saturday last. A further 24 will attend next Saturday. The AED equipment is currently being installed at 4 locations in the community. They are easily accessible in the event of an emergency situation as follows: Ocean View Nursing Home, Knockglossmore, Camp Community Field Centre, Ballinknockane, The Farrell Household, Camp Village, The Smith Household, Slieve East. KILLELTON WALK: Annascaul walking group enjoyed a very informative walk on Sunday. Leader, local Historian Seamus O Donnell, Knockglossmore was joined at the Finglas river by Eoin O Dhuibhne, another veteran of local knowledge, who imparted some wonderful history and lore to the walkers. Teas and coffees and beautiful scones awaited people on their return to The Railway Tavern. The Club are out every weekend walking the hills and valleys of Kerry. The Branch will be involved in a lot of Comhaltas activities in preparation for the County Fleadh Cheoil in June 2010 and it is important that all members are involved.
