LOTTO DRAW: The results of the Ballyduff GAA Club's weekly Lotto Draw for Monday December 14th are as follows; The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 8 &17. There was no winner of the E4,450 jackpot and the following won E50 each; Tom Foran, Knockavahig, Ballyduff. Phyllis Supple, The Village, Ballyduff. BALLYDUFF DISPENSARY 1881: On Monday March 7th 1881 Dr. Burton Jackson, M.D wrote a letter from his residence at Milford, Ballyduff to the Local Government Board. He requested that they press on the Listowel Board of Guardians to obtain a loan from the Board of Public Works to commence the erection of a new (Local) Dispensary House about the first of April when the weather would be suitable for all building operations. He stated "The present house is quite unfit for the purpose intended, and the want of a proper waiting room for patients is a very serious inconvenience, particularly at this season of the year when the attendance is so large". POC FADA: Ballyduff GAA Club is holding a "POC FADA" Long Puck Competition on St. Stephens Day. The competition will start at10.00am from Ross's Mace. Teams of four cost 20.00. Minor, Senior & Masters(over 40) Course: Lacca Cross, Ban's Cross, Hearthill Cross, Finishing in the Village. Team with least number of pucks wins. Trophies for the Winners Refreshments in Lowe's Bar Afterwards Please come and Support GOLF RESULTS: The Ramblers Golf Society Captain John Mike O'Connor held his Captain's Prize Day at Castlegregory Golf Club recently. It was an excellent day for golf with the course was in pristine condition and there were some good scores returned. The overall winner was Neilus Slattery who scored a magnificent 39 points which included birdies on the 8th & 15th holes. DEATH: The death took place of Patrick Tony O'Sullivan, The Cashen, Ballyduff. His remains were removed from Lawlor's Funeral Home, Ballyduff to SS Peter's & Paul's Church, Ballyduff. Burial was in Rahela Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his family, relatives and friends. CHRISTMAS SWIM: The Christmas Day swim in aid of Causeway Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil Fund takes place at Meenoghane Pier at 11.30am on this Friday. Everybody is welcome especially swimmers. Light refreshments served on the day and there will also be live Traditional music. CREDIT UNION: The Clanmaurice Credit Union Office Hours over the Christmas period are as follows; Closed from Thursday December 24th (Christmas Eve) to Monday January 28th inclusive Open on Tuesday December 29th from 7.30pm to 9.00pm, on Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st at the normal hours. Friday January 1st the Office will be closed and will re-open on Saturday January 2nd from 10.00am to 1.00pm Clanmaurice Credit Union Sub-offices will be open on Tuesday nights December 22nd & Tuesday December 29th at the normal opening hours. MASS SHARING: Please note all masses will be shared as and from January 1st 2010 so as to try and facilitate everybody.
