N.K.U21 Champ. 1/4 Final replay Ballydonoghue play St. Senans in Duagh on Saturday March 13th at 4:00pm. Co. Minor League Rd 2 We are at home to Glenflesk Wednesday March 17th at 3:00pm. RESULTS: N.K.League Div2 Ballydonoghue (1-11) Knocknagoshel (2-6). Hard to believe we almost left this game slip from our grasp after being ahead by (1-7) to no score after 25mins. But the concession of a late goal in the first half and a woefully lethargic performance in the second half almost handed the game to Knocknagoshel. It was all Ballydonoghue in the first half and we were 4pts to the good after 10mins before Phillip Moran stretched our lead with a well taken goal. Eamon Walsh (1pt) and Thomas Kennelly (2pt) increased our lead as we headed for the half time whistle. Knock then had their first score a point on 25mins and two minutes later had the ball in the back of the net to give them hope for the second half. Paul Kennelly extended our lead with a point as the referee blew for half time. Ballydonoghue (18) Knock (1-1). We were first to score in the second half with Philip Moran adding another point. 2mins into the half. But that was it, as we went from a team that looked to be coasting to an easy victory to a team that were at sixes and sevens that allowed Knock come within 1pt of them (1-9) to (2-5) with eight minutes remaining. But thanks to late points from Paul Kennelly and Padraig Bunyan (that were separated by a Knocknagoshel point) we managed to hang on. PIONEERS: There has been a huge response to the organising of a reunion concert and function. The first pioneer show was in February 1986. That North Kerry final against Ballyduff and the Technical College was held in the Presentation Convent, Listowel. A group of 56 people took part. In 1987 Marie Kissane and Marie Scanlan produced the Four Seasons. We beat Causeway but lost to Ballyduff in the final with a cast of 62 teenagers. Finally in 1988 we were successful when we beat Ballyduff in the Plaza Hall, Listowel. For some reason our 1-hour show ran to 1 hour 22 minutes. An Agreement before the county final meant that the time penalty was dropped. In rehearsal we never allowed for the long applause! There were great scenes of jubilation. The late Fr. Michael Stack PP was very involved behind the scenes and was a great help as he had started the Killorglin Panto group years previously. Marie Scanlon, Produces and Musical Director helped by Marie Kissane put in long hours, weeks and months. We went on to win Munster semi final beating Cappa, West Limerick and lost to Rosscarberie, Cork. Tom Keane was stage manager with Mike Joe Scanlan. The show was put on in Asdee. Martin Lynch and Timmy Keane, Anne Tydings were some of the comedy artists. A meeting will be held shortly to plan events to mark the 25 years of the first show. Contact info@ceolchiarrai.com. SCOR: Tintean Theatre is now becoming a major venue for the GAA's talent events. This year it has been chosen as the host centre for the Munster senior Scor finals. 600 people are expected for this event with competitors from all over Munster on the weekend of 20th/21st March.
