RESULTS: North Kerry Minor C'ship Div 1: Ballydonoghue (0-4) St Senans (1-8) This game was much closer than the score suggests with only 2pts between the sides 15 mins into the second half after Senans had been ahead 4pts to 1pt at halftime. With Martin Flavin's fielding the highlight of the half. We started the second half well and had the much fancied Senans side worried, after ten minutes we had a good goal chance to go ahead but failed to take it. Unfortunately as we were getting to grips with Senans we lost possession on our own half back line, after some great defensive work by Billy Foley and Diarmuid Behan had prevented a Senan's score. This caught our backs on the wrong foot and allowed Senans in for the only goal of the match. The game swung in Senans favour after this though we did have one more goal chances but on the day our luck wasn't in and we lost out to a very good Senans team. This team have worked extremely hard over the past year and can take some solace in having reached the final, no mean achievement in itself, and I am sure we will see a lot more of them in the future. To their trainer Mike Henchy who has left no stone unturned in getting the team to this final, putting in an enormous amount of time in the sportfield coaching the players. There will be better days ahead. Team: Darren O' Connor, Diarmuid Behan, Billy Foley, Phillip Moran, Darren Gogarty, Thomas Mason, Michael Browne, Martin Flavin Wayne Dowling, David O' Connor (0-1), Dean Dowling Patrick Kennelly, Robert McGregor, Brendan Flavin (0-1), Thomas Kennelly (0-2f). Subs: Sean Lyons (capt), Aidan Glavin, Padraig Enright, T.J Dowling, John Ross Dowling.,Shane O' Sullivan, Trainer Mike Henchy, Sel: Tim O' Connor, Martin O'Mahony, John O'Carroll. FIXTURES: N.K.Junior C'ship Ballydonoghue play Finuge Saturday 26th Dec at 1:30p.m. in Coolard. N.K.U21 C'ship Ballydonoghue play St. Senans Sunday 3rd Jan at 2:30 pm. in Moyvane. U13 INDOOR SOCCER training is on at the Community Centre in Listowel Friday evenings 6pm to 7pm and U15 training Tuesday evenings 7pm to 8pm. GOAL MILE: A solution to building up an appetite for that big turkey dinner on Christmas Day. This year there will be an opportunity at your doorstep to help out those less fortunate than yourselves. From 10.00am to 11.30am on Christmas Day you should all make your way to the Town Park (Cows Lawn) in Listowel where you can run, walk or jog a mile. Man, woman and child are more than welcome to come along and support this worthy cause. On your return to your cozy home environs you can feel content in the knowledge that you have done a good deed by helping out people who do not have the luxuries that we take for granted. This is of benefit to everyone, since walking, jogging or running is a very healthy option. You will also be helping others in alieviating some of their suffering and if you are hungry enough on you return to your comfortable home the turkey could be finished in one sitting rather than having it recycled for the rest of the week. So you are all urged to go down to the Town Park on Christmas Day and join in the fun. Entrance to the event will be at the Community Centre.
