Children's Christmas Ceili. A children's ceili will be held in ardfert community centre on thursday 10 december from 7 - 9.30 pm. A great night's dancing assured. Refreshments will be served on the night. Bumper raffle and children's raffle. All proceeds will go to Ardfert National School and to Fr Donncha's mission projects in Kamwaura parish, Kenya. Ardfert Youth Club - There is no youth club on the 4th December as there is a christmas concert in the hall. We had very few members sign in to youth club last Friday - if you need to check on your child you can always check our register. Our next night will be Dec 11th a mega disco in Horans. BRENDAN'S HURLING CLUB www.stbrendans.kerry.gaa.ie MEMBERS MEETING: A general members meeting of St. Brendan's HC will take place on Wed. 9th Dec. in the GAA clubrooms at 8.30pm to decide on voting for candidates who will be contesting positions at the upcoming Co. Board convention. NKHB AWARDS The North Kerry Hurling Board Annual Bord na nOg Awards took place last Friday night at Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Awards were presented to Player of the Match for all juvenile NK finals. Receiving awards were U-11 Micheál O'Sullivan, Tubrid, U-13 Pádraig O'Connor, West Commons and U-16 Gearóid Silles, Liscahane. Kerry U-21 All-Ireland B Captain Alan Kelly also received an award as a tribute to the teams achievements. Mr. Gerry Dwyer from Lee Strand (sponsor NKHB) praised the efforts of all the young hurlers, and Fixtures secretary Pat Dineen encouraged all Clubs to try and get more people to complete the referees courses and help out with games in the future. NKHB PRO Tommy O'Connor co ordinated the nights events and the slide show and food served helped to ensure an enjoyable night for all who attended. Congratulations also to Mr. Gerald McKenna, Ballyduff who received a Special Merit Award for his services to the GAA.

MUNSTER JUNIOR B

CHAMPIONSHIP: St. Brendan's junior hurlers have once again been invited to compete in the Munster Junior B Championship to play Ballinacurra, Co. Cork. Bad weather caused the game to be deferred from last week but it is hoped to go ahead this Sunday 6th Dec. Time and venue TBC. Best of luck to management team Con O'Sullivan, Thomas Leen and Gerry Wallace, to Captain Declan Raggett and his team. After our trip last January to compete and the great day we had, we know that they will enjoy the day out on Sunday.

SCOR NA nOG: The Co. final of Scor na nOg goes ahead this Sunday evening Dec. 6th at the INEC, Killarney. Representing St. Brendan's and the NKHB are the quiz team: Claire Crowley, Aine O'Connor and Aoife Fitzgerald. The set dancers who have qualified are: Brianne Barrett, Louise Thornton, Katie O'Riordan, Treise Moran, Claire Crowley, Aine O'Connor, Noirin Kennelly and Rachael Stack. Subs: Jane Sweeney and Lisa Cavanagh. Best of luck to all the girls competing. U-21's are due to play Kenmare in the Co. Championship semi-final. Date and venue TBC.

GAA LOTTO; last weeks draw took place in McElligott's and the numbers drawn were 2, 6, 7 and 26. There was no Jackpot winner and the consolation prizes went to John Crowley, Sackville, Seamus Clifford, Banna South, Willie Moore, Tubrid, Susan Woulfe, Killeacle. ASAP PROGRAMME: A launch/information nights will be held at Finuge GAA Club, Finuge 7.30 p.m. Tuesday December 8th .with the presentations being given by Brendan Murphy, National Co-ordinator, Alcohol & Substance Abuse Prevention Programme. Representatives of as many Clubs as possible are invited to attend. Parents and anyone interested in the subject of abuse prevention are also very welcome to attend.

Claire is asking the Ladies to come along and get their clothes, jewellery, pashminas and bags at discounted prices with proceeds going to St. Brendan's Athletic Club. They can get their Christmas Presents at a good price while supporting the local club at the same time. Shop on the right just before Banna Beach Hotel.
