ST Valentine would be indeed proud of the lengths Listowel is going to in order to ensure romance and love are heady in the air on his feast day.
Thanks to the Donal and Darren Mulvihill Foundation, romance will come to life in Listowel in no uncertain way with the secondever annual Valentine's Ball; being held in the Listowel Arms on Saturday, February 11, next and kicking off with a free cocktail reception at 6.30pm.
Last year, the Foundation organisers had to turn people away with over 350 attending the first- ever ball to make it a stunning success.
"It was a fantastic response and we are expecting an even bigger crowd this year for the second Valentine's Ball," organiser Christy Walsh said.
"It's also a very reasonable way to celebrate St Valentine's Day in these recessionary times as for just €50 a ticket the guys can treat their loved ones to a four-course meal, photographs, chocolates and a lot more as part of a fantastic night out!"
Tickets are already selling well.
"They're going great already and it's a case of first- come, first- served so it is essential to book as soon as possible. People can get them through Christy's Bar or from any member of the Mulvihill family," Christy said.
