Sir, I am writing to our South Kerry TDs to elicit their help in opposing the decision to remove the statue of Jesus from its rightful place over the main entrance to Killarney Community Hospital.
We have been given to understand that the statue was removed for health and safety reasons. I accept that if a health and safety audit made the statue's removal necessary, then the decision was perhaps a wise one. However, my own concern is that the decision, and the rumoured decision in respect of the removal of crucifixes, was a product of political correctness gone mad.
