BANG FM the IT Tralee's official on campus radio station organised a fundraiser last Thursday in the Deacon.
It was an 80s theme night with prizes for best dressed on the night. The night began with an 80's Open Mic Night in the Deacon's front bar it then continued in the nightclub with 80's tunes blasted out on the dance floor.
The main aim of this night was to raise funds to purchase equipment for the society so that we can begin broadcasting off campus. Overall they had 40 active members participate in the organisation and running of this event, from planning, to selling tickets to decorating.
This night was a great success with students really dressing for the part. Apart from the 80's night the Radio Society have been very active throughout the year with a daily lunchtime broadcast that cover topics ranging from events listings, sporting events on and off campus, cinema reviews and general college news as well as music to fill the corridors during lunchtime.
